Blocks & Bridges to Organizing Your Life

Blocks make you F.I.C.O.W.L (fickle) with getting organized!

F is for... FEAR of failure, mistakes and critical of self

I is for... "I" have to, I should, I can't say no, only "I" can do it

C is for... COMPLICATED systems, or complications from no system at all, so organization falls apart when you are too busy

O is for... OVERDONE things, over committing, which often stems from perfectionism or a need for approval--this leads to exhaustion, overwhelm and most of all procrastination

W is for... WORK with no play, no fun and consequently, with no light at the end of the tunnel

L is for... LONGING for it to go away, disappear or be taken care of overnight by the "Clutter Fairy" without a change of beliefs, behaviors, and priorities--this all takes time and practice


P.I.K.F.A.R (Pick far/Reach!) across the Bridge to a more balanced, smoothly operating existence!

P is for... PLANNING your schedule allows you to know what you are saying "no" to when you say "yes" to something different that you want to do (and allowing time for fun helps!)

I is for... "I" can choose, I can say no, I can do it the way I like it, I can ask for help...are the new mottos

K is for... K.I.S.S. or Keep it Simple Silly--The best systems work even when you are too tired, too busy, and too irritable and someone else may even be able to find your things

F is for... FIVE, take five minutes to breathe, to dream, to plan, or to "chunk"-- do a little part of a big or ongoing project/job such as filing

A is for... ACCEPT that you may not have been as organized as you would have liked to have been in the past, and NOW you are getting there

R is for... RITUALS for keeping organized such as "completing the day"--organize your time schedule for the next day or clear your desk before you leave your office
